Recently, I took a trip to home depot and bought a Lexan glass sheet 36x48x.093 . I am trying to make a clear dry erase board similar to the ones they use on the show "numb3rs."
There is a company that makes these boards but their prices are crazy high compared the Lexan sheet I bought.
I was trying to replicate the way the company mounted the board.
Heres a link (take a look at the picture). http://www.clearmarkerboard.com/catalog/item/6216436/6620967.htm
Any ideas?
Also, does anyone know were I can buy white markers like in the picture of this website (from numb3rs) ? http://www.instructables.com/id/A_glass_whiteboard/
I just found out the mounting hardware I’m looking for is called a "stand off." But, now I’m wondering what local hardware store I can find them. http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/gyford/standoffs/#/1/OnePage

If you know where I can buy each individual component, that would also be fine.

I am transferring from Community College soon to a bigger University and I want a dry erase board for my apartment.
I am a biology major, but I would really enjoy having the board for math/chemistry school work, and maybe just keeping track of things and what not.
Anyway, I was reading about all the different surfaces and didn’t know which way to go.
I think Melamine and Lexen glass were the two suggestions? Does anyone know how long these will last or how to clean them?
I know that the "Thrifty White Panel Board" at Home Depot is cheap and supposed to work, but I am curious about how durable it is.
Thanks for any help!

I am looking for sheets of white board, sort of like the way they sell masonite, but I would prefer it to be 8′x4′ instead of 4′x4′…anyways, I have tried my local lumber yard, and nothing… I tried calling home depot, but they didnt have it either… I would really rather not buy anything off the internet… Please, any suggestions are appreciated!!!
